Police received a notice around 1 am that a 2007 Audi SUV stolen from Indiana had entered the border of Danville City.

Danville police found vehicles in the areas of Fairchild Street and Fowler Avenue.

Police officers tried to stop the traffic, but the driver refused to stop, saying the SUV had moved eastward and led the police in a chase to E. Main Street, which left the city of Danville and continued to Covington, Indiana. rice field.

The driver lost control and crashed in an area of ​​2400 blocks on Salem Church Road, Covington, Indiana.

After colliding the vehicle, the driver and two other crew members collided with the woodlands.

Danville police were assisted by the Covington Police Department and the Fountain County Security Office in searching for the suspect.

During a search of the woodlands, police found 20-year-old Malik J. Meriwether in Centralia, Illinois. Merriweather was detained for possessing a stolen vehicle and is now detained in Fountain County, Indiana.

Police officers searched the area for the remaining two residents, but could not find them.

No injuries have been reported in this case.
