Provo, Utah (AP) BYU has been working to build a team with rigorous defenses and efficient attacks, following the Utah’s ancient blueprint.
Cougar finally found a way to beat Ute using the same blueprint.
Jalen Hall threw three touchdown passes, attacking a total of 241 yards, helping BYU defeat No. 21 Utah 23-17 on Saturday night.
Tyler Argaia added 97 yards with 27 carries as the Cougars lost nine games in a row against Ute. This was BYU’s first win over rivals since 2009 and the team’s largest win margin in the series since 1996.
BYU ran 219 yards and Texas was in a hurry 231 yards at the 2019 Alamo Bowl, making it the first team to win at least 200 yards against Utah.
