San Diego (KSWB) – According to police, the mother and child died on Saturday after falling from the concourse dining area of ​​Petco Park in downtown San Diego on an estimated six floors.

Police said the fall occurred around 3:50 pm, just before the Padres Braves match began at 4:15 pm.

Authorities said medical personnel had arrived at the scene and conducted CPR for about 20 minutes, but both victims were later sentenced to death.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a 40-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child fell on the sidewalk below the third floor of the stadium.

Police are investigating whether the fall was accidental. The agency described the dead as “suspicious” and closed the area as part of an investigation.

“It’s a tragic event,” said Lieutenant Andorra Brown of the San Diego Police Department. “We feel scared of our families, and our hearts are clearly directed not only to our families, but also to the people here who can be traumatized.”

Police said the child’s father was in the stadium at the time of the fall.

They are asking fans who may have witnessed the fall to come forward. Anyone with information about death was asked to call the murder detective at 619-531-2293.
