Maroa, Illinois (Wand)-Suspect is detained after Route 51 between Maroa and Forsyth was closed for standoffs situation..
At around 1:45 pm on Wednesday, WAND News crew members in the area saw drivers involved in standoff speeds heading from Route 51 to the school road area.
Maloa-Forsyth High School is in this standoff area. The district said it would not take children out as standoffs were deployed and the district contacted Illinois State Police.
The district keeps in touch with parents through textbooks. It is said that it is ready to use an alternative bus route if necessary.
Authorities told WAND News that the situation was arrested and ended peacefully. The Illinois State Police are handling the investigation.
After 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Route 51 was still closed on the southbound side. At that time, the northbound lane was open.
