COVID 19 comatose North Carolina woman gives birth to a “miracle baby”

Charlotte, NC-A pregnant school cafeteria worker in Charlotte was infected with COVID-19 and gave birth to a baby during a medically induced coma.

Vicky Goodson remains in the hospital and hopes her story encourages other mothers to vaccinate.

“Baby is a miracle baby” Goodson’s sister Tarisha Reach I told the ABC series WSOC.. “Miracle baby. She is beautiful.”

Goodson’s family said they were cautious during the pandemic, but waited until after pregnancy to be vaccinated. Then on September 3, she began to have difficulty breathing and had to be admitted to the hospital.

A few days later, while Goodson was unconscious, doctors performed an emergency caesarean section. Her baby spent two weeks in the NICU and is now at home with her relatives, but she doesn’t know her and she has never done a precious miracle.

This week, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an urgent warning after new data showed that more than 125,000 pregnant women were COVID-19 positive, of which 22,000 were hospitalized and 161 died. ..

In August alone, 22 pregnant women died of COVID-19, according to the CDC. In addition, in surviving mothers, COVID-19 is associated with preterm birth, stillbirth, and newborns arriving with COVID-19 and having to be admitted to the ICU.

Pregnant mothers are life-sustaining at CA Hospital and survive COVID while pregnant.
