There is no “dune”.
Legendary Entertainment announced on Tuesday that Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune,” adapted from the first half of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science fiction epic, will be the sequel. Whether that was the case was an unanswered question throughout the release of the film, which was delayed by a pandemic a year and eventually debuted in both the theater and HBO Max.
Warner Bros. Pictures Chairman Toby Emmerich said the studio will release “Dune: Part II” in October 2023. This release will only be available in theaters. Villeneuve was passionately protesting when Warner Bros. turned to hybrid releases of all 2021 films for a pandemic, claiming that “Dune” was a big screen one.
However, Villeneuve was working hard for a sequel to “Dune.” He simply says this is the best movie he has made. Starring Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa and Zendaya. Some actors like Zendaya could play a bigger role in Part 2.
“This is just the beginning,” Villeneuve said in a statement.
Over the weekend, Dune went on sale at theaters in the US and Canada with solid ticket sales of $ 40.1 million. Introducing itself as “Part 1”, the $ 165 million movie “Dune” has made $ 225 million worldwide to date.
