Chicago (CBS) — Metra will be preparing additional trains to handle the surge in ridership for the White Sox spray-off game this weekend.
In a news release, Metra said there would be additional outbound trains on the Rock Island Line after Game 3 on Sunday, October 10. The train departs from Metra’s 35th Avenue / “Lou” Jones Station approximately 30 minutes after the game ends. ..
The train rushes to Blue Island and stops all at Joliet. Metra’s regular train 231 departing from 35th Avenue at 11:15 pm “accommodates passengers along the Beverly branch of the line.”
According to Metra, riders “recommend to use Metra’s $ 7 Sunday Day Pass.” Suitable for unlimited rides all day long. Metra’s weekend “Family Fares” allow up to 3 children under the age of 11 to ride for free with a paying adult. Train tickets can be purchased from the Ventra app.
