Pittsburgh (AP) Sidney Crosby is back.
The Pittsburgh Penguins star will make its season debut on Saturday night, when the penguins host New Jersey.
Crosby, 34, had left wrist surgery on September 8, and estimated that he would be absent for “at least” six weeks. The match on Saturday night is just over 7 weeks after the procedure.
The penguins will also return to Jeff Carter’s center, where he has been out for more than a week after testing positive for COVID-19. Carter said he was asymptomatic during the quarantine and returned to practice on Friday.
Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan said of Crosby and Carter, “I think they will provide a lot on both sides of the pack, needless to say.” “When they are in our lineup, we are a much better hockey team, so we are excited to bring them back into the lineup.”
Crosby returns to his well-known location as the center of Pittsburgh’s front lines. Carter, who filled the top line during Crosby’s absence, secures the second line with Evgeni Malkin, at least until Thanksgiving, while recovering from knee surgery in June.
