Champaign — State Democrats released a new parliamentary map proposed on Friday, and some of Illinois’ most famous Republican representatives-including US Congressman Rodney Davis-have new district homes or competitors. I’m waiting.

The 13th Parliamentary District, which Davis has represented since it was created after the 2010 census, includes the Champaign Urbana, but not the Republican Tailor Building.
In fact, there are currently no US representatives sitting within the new boundaries proposed by District 13.
The redrawn map is located in the 15th arrondissement of Davis’ hometown of Tailor Building and is now represented by Republican Mary Millar. However, they also moved Miller’s hometown of Auckland to the repainted District 16, where the first legislators faced Peoria’s Darin Rafud, a fourth-term Republican. Also included are the proposed new 15 days: Arcola, Taxcola, Lantor, Mahomet, St. Joseph, Ogden.
Davis did not hold back Friday, blasting Democratic Governor JB Pritzker and calling his state constituency change process a “complete joke” in a statement.
“As expected, our liar governor worked with state Democrats to portray a shameful party gerrymandering in a desperate attempt to maintain Nancy Pelosi’s power,” Davis told the Democratic chairman of California. Mentioned and said. “It’s clear that Governor Pritzker and Democrats will succumb to any low level if it means they can continue the corrupt system.”
Legally, Davis is still allowed to run in the new District 13, but is more democratic than the district he currently represents. In addition to the CU, some of the Decatur, Springfield, Alton, East St. Louis, Belleville, Edwardsville are all included.
The new 15th is a more Republican-friendly area covering a vast area from Freeport to Bandelia on the northern central edge of the state, including Danville, Charleston, Matoon, Gibson City and Paxton.
It was also wiped out with the proposed remapping. Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger has become nationally famous for his criticism and impeachment of former President Donald Trump.
If he decides to run in the seventh season, it will not be the redrawn District 16, but District 3, which extends from the south and west of Oak Lawn on the outskirts of Chicago to LaSalle.
Kinzinger, who is mentioned as a candidate for Republican governor like Davis, made a non-promised statement about his political ambitions after the proposed map was released.
“My team and I will take the time to examine them and consider all options, including outside the home,” Kinzinger tweeted in a statement on Friday.
In February, Kinzinger said, “I didn’t intend to run for anything throughout the state.” He posted a fair amount of funding figures.
“This subdivision process wasn’t transparent. It’s not surprising to anyone,” he said. “I believe the people of Illinois are of better value.”
Illinois’s parliamentary seats have dropped from 18 to 17. This reflects the 2020 census, which has reduced the population and prompted this latest reallocation. Illinois also lost parliamentary seats in the previous cycle.
Of the current 18 seats, 13 are Democrats and 5 are Republicans.
