London (AP) — Queen Elizabeth II canceled her scheduled engagement at the United Nations Climate Change Conference and accepted her doctor’s resting advice, Buckingham Palace said Tuesday.

The 95-year-old monarch “unfortunately” decided not to travel to Glasgow to attend the reception on November 1. This is a move to shatter the hopes of the British conservative government and a session on the fate of the planet. The Climate Change Conference was held from October 31st to November 12th, and her appearance was aimed at starting it with style and splendor.

“Your Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception, but will deliver the address to the gathered representatives via a recorded video message,” said the palace.

The news came out on Tuesday after Sovereign held a virtual audience at Windsor Castle. This is the first time since a doctor ordered her to rest last week. The Republic of Korea’s ambassador appeared for the first time with technical assistance since he was taken to King Edward VII’s Hospital in London for a “preliminary investigation” on October 20. She returned to Windsor Castle’s house at lunchtime the next day.

The Queen underwent a medical examination after canceling her trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Northern Ireland. The palace said it “reluctantly” accepted the advice to rest for a few days. This issue had nothing to do with COVID-19.

Her doctor ordered a rest last week a few busy days after a busy series of events by a monarch who likes to be seen by people. She welcomed the audience with a diplomat, held a reception for world-class business leaders at Windsor Castle, and participated in horse racing at Ascot.

Her visit to the hospital last week came in the midst of general anxiety about Elizabeth’s health. A few days ago, she was seen using a wand at a worship service in Westminster Abbey to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion, a military charity. She used a cane in 2003, but only after undergoing knee surgery.

The Queen’s husband, Prince Phillip, died in April 2021 at the age of 99. Elizabeth has been healthy throughout her life, but is the longest-lived and monarch of Britain. She will celebrate Platinum Jubilee (70 years on the throne) next year.
