Better Government Association: New update to Illinois employee compensation database

Each year, the Better Government Association edits Illinois’s most comprehensive civil servant salary database.

NS Database Currently, by 2019, more than 500,000 salaries have been provided by city, state and government employees.

You can search for cities, counties, and Illinois. You can find local institutions, schools, park districts, libraries, and fire protection districts. There are police and fire department records.

You can use the database to track employee salaries over the years. If they are in the same department but are promoted, past salaries will be linked.

To create this year’s database, the BGA is from 979 public record requests summarizing basic and additional salaries (overtime, sick leave, vacation, etc.) for 509,754 states, municipalities, schools, and other civil servants throughout Illinois. Processed the response.
