Poughkeepsie, NY-Joey Sussie rushed to two touchdowns, and Butler defeated Marist 28-21 on Saturday to win his first Pioneer Football League victory of the season.
Butler forced Marist’s fumble on the goal line and went 99 yards to take the 21-14 lead in Susie’s 1-yard run. Tre Mason gave Butler a two-touchdown lead with a pick of six, leaving 5:22.
Brett Bushka was 23-16, passing 176 yards with two intercepts of Butler (3-8, 1-7). Bushka also rushed to 29 yards and 1 score. Susie entered with a touchdown once a season.
Austin Daye threw 208 yards with two touchdowns and one interception by Marist (5-5, 5-3).
With 3 seconds remaining, he connected with Brett Landis with a 48-yard touchdown and won 10 plays and a 97-yard drive.
