Family lost home in a South Beloit fire

South Beloit, Illinois (WTVO) — South Beloit’s family lost their home after a fire broke out in an apartment building on Friday.

According to the South Beloit Fire Department, the fire broke out at about 3:49 pm on 5000 blocks on Chenie Avenue. Upon arrival, the crew found intense flames and smoke coming from the apartment on the ground.

The South Beloit Police Department assisted in the evacuation and no one was injured. The fire was successfully extinguished as the Rockton Fire and Harlem Roscoe Fire car aid companies reportedly provided assistance.

The fire is under investigation and one family has been evacuated due to the flame.
