Former Blackhawks Marian Hossa, Doug Wilson, was enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame

Toronto – They had to wait a little longer than their predecessors, but on Monday night, the 2020 Hockey Hall of Fame class finally reached their enshrined moment.

This included a pair of Blackhawks players who were the face of a particular generation of franchises.

Forward Marian Hossa and Defense Doug Wilson were two of the six enshrined as members of the 2020 class in Toronto on Monday night. They joined Jarome Izinla, Ken Holland, Kevin Row and Kim Saint-Pierre for a ceremony postponed for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wilson played for the Blackhawks for 14 years, played six of seven All-Star games in Chicago, and won the Norris Trophy as the best defender in the 1981-1982 season. Prior to his retirement, he ended his playing career with the expansion of the San Jose Sharks in the 1991-1992 and 1992-1993 seasons.

Wilson helped his career during his introductory speech in honor of the late Stan Mikita, his first roommate with the Blackhawks, Keith Magnuson and Tony Esposito. He thanked the organization and the fans as a whole, and at the same time shouted to live announcer Pat Foley, along with current Blackhawks historian Bob Verdi.

Hossa spent eight of the 19 NHL seasons in Chicago, helping the team participate in the three Stanley Cup Championships in the 2010s. He scored 186 goals and scored 229 assists, a fragment for growing into an ice dynasty over the last decade.
