Indianapolis man accused of murdering his girlfriend in 2020

Indianapolis-A man in Indianapolis was charged with murdering his girlfriend a year after telling police that she had committed suicide.

49-year-old John Henry was arrested Wednesday and ordered to be put in jail without being detained.

Authorities have linked Henry to October 28, 2020, and have stated no evidence that they believe they shot and killed 33-year-old Taras Smith in her apartment on the western side of the city. However, in a news release, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police said the detective suspected cheating.

In March of this year, the Marion County Coroner office determined that Smith’s death was a murder, and Henry’s arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday. ..
