Pritzker also issued Executive Order 2021-29, which declares gun violence a public health crisis. Violence prevention serviceIncludes street violence interruption work, emotional or traumatic treatment, housing, employment, vocational training / placement, family involvement, and wraparound support services.
Youth development programImprove school attendance and school performance, reduce criminal justice involvement, and build social emotional sustainability and intelligence, including after-school and summer programming.
Trauma recovery services for young peopleFunded by Medicaid, designed and implemented by the Healthcare and Family Services Department to address the recovery of trauma from chronic exposure to firearm violence. Team-based care models include case management and school support services, group and individual care, and evidence-based family system interventions.
