Decatur, Illinois (Wand)-Gold coins were given to the Salvation Army as part of a holiday donation drive in Decatur!

An anonymous donor donated coins at Blain’s Farm and Fleet at Decatur’s 1191 W. South Side Drive. Such donations make a big difference to the community, and the Salvation Army said it was a sign that the donation season was still very alive.

“It excites us. You know, it keeps us moving,” said Decatur’s Salvation Army Kenesa Dabella. “Every time we start the kettle season, we keep looking for those gold coins because it’s a tradition throughout the United States. People drop gold coins here in Decatur for the past few years. We are receiving gold. Coins. ”

The Salvation Army has reached 83% of the overall Christmas campaign goal. As of December 16th, we still have 8 days of support.
