Plans for a Covid-19 passport limiting various indoor entertainment options were shouted by protesters on the streets of England today.
The UK government’s so-called “Plan B” restrictions began yesterday with the mandatory masking in indoor theaters, cinemas and churches. On Tuesday, a vote will be held on whether a vaccine passport is required for admission to nightclubs and large venues.
Anger is also excited by widespread rumors that the UK government is working on “Plan C,” which limits nursing homes and mandates masks in pubs and restaurants.
So far, the government has refuted the claim that “Plan C” is underway. “We believe that Plan B’s measures are the right approach and the right balance,” said the Prime Minister’s official spokesperson.
Today, failing protesters compared Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Adolf Hitler, with various signs showing exclusions and anger at the checkpoint. The pass requires proof of vaccination, a negative test, or recent recovery from Covid-19.
Johnson announced a new “Plan B” rule on Wednesday, citing an increase in Covid-19 cases and an increased threat of Omicron variants. The UK government claims that 30% of new cases are related to Omicron.
