Coaching the rebel Oakland Raiders, Madden set a great record for the 103-32-7 regular season and led the team to victory in the Super Bowl after the 1976 season. However, fear of flying contributed to early retirement from coaching.
He quit coaching at the age of 42 and became even more influential after entertaining the millions of people who participated in NFL football. He was also the name behind the very popular sports video game “Madden NFL Football”.
