Utah Whittingham Unanimous APPac-12 Coach of the Year | WGN Radio 720

With all that Utah has endured and achieved this season, it’s no wonder Kyle Whittingham was selected as the 2021 Associated Press Pac-12 Coach of the Year.

Utah goes to the Rose Bowl for the first time after defeating Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship. This is a game reached after Utah has recovered, following a rocky start on the field.

Utah kicked off Season 1-2 and lost their third match to San Diego State University. Utah won the next match, the opening round of the conference against Washington, and the tragedy struck. Defensive back Aaron Lowe was shot dead at a party in Salt Lake City.

The team rallyed and won all but one of the remaining regular season matches. This includes a 38-7 victory at the home at the time. 3 On November 20, Oregon upset the duck’s hopes for a playoff harbor. They defeated the ducks again on December 3rd in the title game in Las Vegas.

Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Offensive Player of the Year honor was awarded to USC wide receiver Drake London, and UCLA’s Zack Charbone, who came to Bruins from Michigan, was selected as the Newcomer of the Year.

The 2021 AP All-Pac-12 team was selected by a panel of 14 sports writers and sports casters who regularly cover the league, including name, school, height, weight, class and hometown. (“U-” indicates unanimous selection):
