Illinois military dad reunites with his son after almost a year away

Christian County, Illinois (WCIA) — Central A & M students were amazed at his life.

Fourth grade Mason Bauer hasn’t seen his stepfather for almost a year. Sgt Damion king has been deployed in Kuwait for a year. Principal Charles Brown said it was a sight to see.

Brown said: “I always love these videos. It’s fun to watch every time. Being part of it was even more special than watching it on social media.”

When Bowers’ mom heard she wanted to do something, he said she was ecstatic.

“Mason’s mom, Felicia, called me about a week ago and said she wanted to do something like this. I was on board,” Brown said. ..

His teacher, Dawn Morel, said it was difficult to hide his excitement.

Morel said: I was also very nervous. I was excited because I kept a secret from the children. “

After the first moment, other children cheered him on, and Bauer began to take his stepfather around the hall.

“We have decided that it is best to honor him and have all the students at school see the sacrifice and joy of a man returning home to see his son-in-law,” Brown said.

His sister also visited the class, so I had another surprise today.
