Champaign — No trip to Pennsylvania State University for the third consecutive year.
A trip to the Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana for the first time in nine years.
There is no trip to Wisconsin to play against the old school of Brett Burma in this season’s second game.
These are some of the notable changes made on Wednesday when Big Ten announced a revision of its football schedule for the 2022 season.
This change does not affect Illini’s three non-conference games hosting the FCS program Chattanooga at the Memorial Stadium in Wyoming on August 27, Virginia on September 10, and Champaign on September 24.
However, the opening round of Big Ten will be held in Indiana on September 3rd, not at Camp Randall Stadium against Wisconsin. Irini will face badgers on October 1st in Madison, Wisconsin. Illinois hasn’t played Indiana in the home field since losing to the Hoosiers 52-35 on November 9, 2013.
And Illinois never travels to play at Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium for the third year in a row. Illini was scheduled to face the Nittany Lions at University Park, Pennsylvania on October 15, but will host Minnesota that day instead.
The only big ten game that didn’t change in Illinois with all the revisions on Wednesday was the finale of the November 26th regular season in Northwestern.
Take a look at Irini’s revised 2022 schedule. The time has not yet been decided.
August 27 vs. Wyoming
September 3 Indiana
September 10 vs. Virginia
September 24 vs Chattanooga
October 1st Wisconsin
October 8 vs. Iowa
October 15 vs. Minnesota
October 29, Nebraska
November 5 vs. Michigan
November 12 vs. Purdu
November 19th in Michigan
