Oh baby!Families in the Chicago area welcome new babies on New Year’s Day

Chicago — Some families in the Chicago area are celebrating the New Year with a bunch of new joys.

Baby Kairani was born on a midnight stroke at Advocate Masonic Hospital, Illinois.

She weighed 6 pounds, 7 orchids, and 18.5 inches long. Baby Kairani has three older brothers waiting for him when he gets home.

And at Paros Park, Parvis became a party of four. Baby Calm was the first baby born this year at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

The baby calm weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 19 inches long. He will see his brother on Sunday.

Christine and Heath Purvis say that the reality of the pandemic means that it will take some time for the baby to meet the rest of his extended family, but they feel hopeful.

Congratulations to all the family members!
