Beijing (AP) — Mixed Team Snowboard Cross is a variation of the chaotic event that debuts at the Olympic Games this year.
Each team consists of one man and one female. Men go first, then women start staggered based on how the men ended up in the race. NBC will screen the final live of the Mixed Snowboard Cross during the golden hours of Friday night.
Elsewhere, the US men’s hockey team faces Canada, with the quarterfinals continuing on the women’s side.

The United States has already won multiple gold medals on snowboards — Lindsey Jacobellis on a snowboard cross and Chloe Kim on a halfpipe.

The US men’s hockey team kicked off the host country China 8-0 to open the Olympic tournament. Now Americans are always facing a Canadian team with high hopes. The game will air on USA Network at 11:00 pm.
Canada defeated 2018 silver medalist Germany 5-1.
“It was a great start, and that was all you wanted to happen,” said Alex Grant of Canada, who scored the opening goal in the game. “Whenever we get off to such a start, it’s great. Overall, it was a solid performance.”
The Canadian women’s team will face Sweden in the quarterfinals. USA Network will broadcast it live at 9:40 am. At 11:00 pm, CNBC will show another live quarterfinal between Switzerland and the Russians.
Bad blood?
Last weekend, Sweden’s Nils van der Poel, a 5,000-meter speed skating champion, set up the Ice Ribbon Oval on the Dutch website with scientists from the world’s strongest team to take advantage of it.
Van der Poel said he did not criticize Dutch rivals, but it is not yet known if 10,000 people, including Van der Poel and the Dutch prominent Yoritbergsma and Patrick Roest, have prolonged hostility.
NBC is showing 10,000 in the afternoon and USA Network will cover that too.

Germany’s Christopher Grosser was the fastest in both heats on Thursday, 0.7 seconds ahead of fellow German Axel Jungk heading to the last two slides.
USA Network will show the final run live in the morning and NBC will show the event in prime time.
Precautions
Italy’s Arianna Fontana, the 500-meter champion in short track speed skating, will race again at 1,000. USA Network will show the final live in the morning and NBC will broadcast in golden time. … USA Network is showing a men’s 15km cross-country ski race live at 2am. It will also air in the second half of the day and NBC will screen in the afternoon. … NBC will perform live women’s downhill training during prime time.
