Clinton, Illinois (Wand)-Bond was set up for the suspect at a US 51 standoff, officials said he had a toddler with him in the car.
Authorities identified the man as follows: Orsino Thurman, 36 years old. Thurman appeared in DeWitt County Court on Thursday and set a $ 75,000 deposit.
Situation involving Thurman Deploy on Wednesday, When Clinton police responded to a home battery report in the morning. The woman claimed to have been abused at a nearby motel in block 1100 of IL 54 West, and police said she could see Sirman leaving a parking lot in her car while talking to her.
Officials said police had received information that Sirman was armed and had a baby with him.
According to officials, Sirman initially stopped for law enforcement, but ran a car as Clinton police tried to ask him about alleged domestic assault. The incident moved from IL54 to US51 and ended in Maekong County between Maroa and Forsyth.
Officials said the spike strip was used at US51 near Maroa before the suspect continued to drive and stopped south of School Road. SWAT and a crisis negotiator were involved and persuaded him to give up his child before he escaped again.
According to officials, Sirman was arrested after the SWAT team invalidated his car. They reported finding multiple weapons and bulletproof vests in his car.
No injuries were reported and the baby was safely returned to the family.
