Salt Lake City (AP) — Apple CEO Tim Cook and retired NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade join Utah leaders Wednesday to defend local defense of building a new home to serve young people in LGBTQ in the western United States Announced the completion of the group’s campaign.
Encircle, a non-profit organization that provides mental health services to LGBTQ youth, will build eight new homes in Arizona, Aidaho, Nevada and Utah with the goal of providing a safe space and preventing teenage suicide. We have exceeded our goal of raising $ 8 million.

The group launched its first campaign in February with donations from Apple and Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith.
Wade, who joined the Utah Jazz ownership group in April, shared his experience as a parent of transgender children and expressed his support for Encircle’s mission.
“I stand here as a proud parent of a beautiful daughter who is part of the LGBT Plus community,” Wade said. “I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know everything, but I’m happy to listen.”

Encircle is based in Salt Lake City, Pro Bono and St. George, Utah. Construction began in Heber, Logan, Ogden, and Las Vegas.
The group is based in Provo, Utah, home of Brigham Young University. Jeffrey Holland, the top leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently called on the church-owned university to support its commitment to basic teachings of faith, including its attitude toward same-sex marriage.
Subsequent controversies have shown that tensions remain between the LGBTQ community and the state’s dominant beliefs.
Church scholars say that Salt Lake City-based beliefs taught that homosexuality could be “cured” in the 1970s. Since then, the church has said that homosexuality is not a sin, but it opposes same-sex marriage and intimacy.
