Landover, Maryland (AP) — Patrick Mahomes throws 397 yards, designs three touchdown drives in the second half to supplement two intercepts, and Kansas City Chiefs 31-13 in Washington on Sunday. Leading to a comeback victory and regaining them. Up to .500.

After throwing two picks half-time before, Mahomes connected with Tyleak Hill in the second half of the third quarter with a two-yard touchdown pass. He was a 24-yard player and kept the game out of reach of DeMarcus Robinson, with 3:14 remaining in the fourth period. Meanwhile, Darrell Williams rushed back to the second TD of the game to help Kansas City (3-3) avoid an embarrassing loss.

The defense finally played that role, keeping their opponents below 29 points for the first time this season, forcing them to fumble and choosing Taylor Heinicke to block the victory. Washington (2-4) finished at 276 yards, the lowest point of the season.

The Chiefs were hit by a disaster for most of the first half and flipped the ball three times. A ball bounced by Hill’s hand, a fumble by Mecole Hardman, a receiver, and a mysterious heave by Mahomes. Kansas City has promised the worst 14 turnovers in the NFL this season.

Unlike the losses to the Ravens, Chargers, and Bills, the attack made up for the prize. The Chiefs had 95, 68, 45 and 96 yards touchdown drives.

Mahomes finished 32 yards out of 47 yards and rushed 31 yards along the way.

RIVERA HOT MIC

Washington coach Ron Rivera was caught by a hot Mike complaining to officials in the declining minutes of the match. Rivera was able to mention the offensive line and hear him using abusive words saying he didn’t care.

Penalty trouble

Washington’s defense, forced to make three turnovers in the first half, gave Kansas City points due to a later bad penalty.

Pass Rasher’s Montez Sweat was flagged offside by the Red Zone Chiefs to disable a third downstop on a drive ending at Hill TD from Mahomes. Linebacker Khaleke Hudson penalized a holding penalty in the end zone and set Williams’ second score.

Taylor’s permanent absence

Washington retired from late safety Sean Taylor No. 21 in half-time after being criticized by graduates and fans for the team not giving compliments until Thursday. Members of Taylor’s family attended a pre-game ceremony naming the road leading to the stadium after him, and when his number retired, surrounded a framed burgundy jersey in the field.

Team President Jason Light is enough for those interested in confusing the situation and attending a tribute to Taylor, the beloved person in franchise history who was killed during a robbery attempt at his Florida home in 2007. I publicly apologized for not providing such notice.

Many Taylor jersey fans with “21” towels chanted his name as the festival was nearing its end.
