Blount County, Alabama-According to a local sheriff’s office, hundreds of FedEx luggage were found dumped in a canyon in Blount County, Alabama.

The Brant County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook statement that it had found 300 to 400 packages of FedEx of various sizes, allegedly thrown into the canyon, in response to a private canyon on Wednesday afternoon.

“Hopefully we’ll have some answers soon,” the office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the FedEx area manager, who was scheduled to start loading luggage on Thursday sunrise, “sent multiple trucks and drivers from all over the South.”

The latest information from the sheriff’s office on Thursday morning said authorities were “making dents” in their cleanup and recovery efforts.

“The security of your luggage is a top priority and we are committed to handling your luggage with the utmost care,” FedEx said in a statement to CNN.

“We are taking steps to retrieve and transport the affected packages as soon as possible,” the statement said. “In addition to working with law enforcement agencies, we are reviewing this situation and taking appropriate action.”
