No. 12 Ole Miss defeats No. 11 Texas A & M 29-19 in defense | WGN Radio 720

Oxford, Mississippi (AP) Mississippi has defeated one of the best defensive teams at the Southeastern Conference with its unique shutdown performance.

AJ Finley returned a 52-yard passcut with a touchdown, and Matt Corral threw with a touchdown of 247 yards, beating No. 12 Olemis to No. 11 Texas A & M 29-19 on Saturday night.

“The defense had a great day,” said Lane Kiffin, coach of Olemis. “It opposed one of America’s hottest teams. Overall, it’s an incredible day.”

The rebels (8-2, 3-3 Southeastern) led 15-13 in the fourth quarter, with Ashanti Kistrun’s passcut leaving Snoop Connor’s 13-yard touchdown at 6:32.

I just walked into it. That was all, “said Cistrunk. “We were tied to the ball, but I knew I had it.”

Finley provided an insurmountable cushion in the next series, grabbed Zack Calzada’s throw and returned to the Texas A & M sideline.

“It was a crazy moment,” Finley said. “It was really big for me because it was my first pick 6 since I came here.”

Texas A & M (7-3, 4-3) was second in the SEC in terms of yards per play to Georgia, but dragged in half 15-0 to 2 in the fourth quarter at 24 yards. I took the lead. Devon Achain scored and Seth Small scored a field goal.

Achan ran a 9-yard touchdown and finished scoring with 3:11 remaining.

Coral completed 24 out of 37 passes, and Kaden Costa kicked field goals at 33 and 32 yards. Chance Campbell and Cadron Smith have increased their safety by fighting Isaia Spirer in the first half of the end zone.

“It was a shame to be here,” said A & M coach Zimbo Fisher about the first half of the scoreless. “We put ourselves behind the eight-ball. We give credit to Ole Miss. They played a really good game.”

The rebels finished with a total of 504 yards of attack, with Jerion Erie carrying 24 at 152 yards and adding 34 yards at four receptions.

Achane had 12 carries and 110 yards. Karzada passed 237 yards at 24 out of 41 yards.

The point

Texas A & M: The defeat ended Aggie’s hopes of winning the SEC West by snapping the steaks that won in four games.

“Our defense gave us a chance in the first half,” Fisher said. “We weren’t playing with the calm we showed.”

Oremis: With the 10-win season and the New Year’s Six Bowl Bath within reach, the rebels still have little hope for the SEC West title. Alabama has to lose the last two games for Oremis to get a chance.

Impact on polls

The No. 12 rebels spent a week in the top ten, and an impressive victory could push them back to the company. Loss drops Aggie’s.

next
