Peregrine Falcon activates OLB Fowler and puts a means on the disabled list

Flowery Branch, Georgia-Outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. has been activated from an injured reserve to the Atlanta Falcons’ active roster and will play in a Sunday match in Dallas.

Fowler’s return concludes Atlanta’s busy week’s move with outside linebackers. The team put Stephen Means on the injured list on Saturday due to a knee injury. On Tuesday, Atlanta released Jacob Twioti Mariner, an outside linebacker who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice team.

Fowler returned to practice on Wednesday after being placed in IR on October 22nd due to a knee injury. He actually wore a brace on his left knee, but he didn’t seem to like his knee.

Fowler started the first five games in Atlanta and had two stripsacks. The two sack still share the team leader. The Falcons are ranked last in the NFL with only 11 sack.

Falcons tight end Lee Smith (back) and defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard (concussion) were excluded in the match on Sunday.

Atlanta has promoted tight-end Parker Hesse to an active roster.
