Will County officials were searching for two suspects, who said they had fired at a Halloween party on Sunday.
Two people were killed and 12 were injured in the incident, police said.
The shoot took place early Sunday morning at a house party in Joliet, southwestern Chicago. The Will County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that an estimated 200 people attended the event.
According to the sheriff’s office, a shooting occurred near the DJ booth in the backyard.
Citing witnesses, the sheriff’s office said one of the men was a Hispanic man in a red hoodie. Officials said he fired from an elevated porch overlooking the crowd.
The second archer was portrayed as a fair-skinned man in a ski mask and a yellow hoodie.
Two people were sentenced to death at the scene. Neither has been identified. According to the statement, the other four were taken to a local hospital.
