Miami (AP) Miami had eight players and lost one after completing a pre-game warm-up. In Washington, there was a player taking a crash course in Wizards terminology hours before actually joining the game.
It wasn’t an easy night for either side. It was a little fun for Miami.
Tyler Herro scored 32 points on the Miami bench, Jimmy Butler finished with 25 points and 15 career best assists, and on Tuesday night the depleted heat stopped the depleted Wizards 119-112.
“It just keeps getting better,” said Hero, after Heat (22-13) moved the season-the best nine games over .500.
Duncan Robinson added 26 points to Miami, scoring eight 3 points the night the heat passed in a very short turn after Butler twisted his right ankle leaving 1:03.
Kyle Lowry participates in the Health and Safety Protocol, and Idris Adebayo suffers a thumb injury. Heat began a two-week road trip in San Antonio on Wednesday, and Butler is missing or perhaps ill.
Spencer Dinwidy scored 24 points and Kyle Kuzma scored 22 points in Washington. Davis Bertans added 19 points, Daniel Gafford added 16 points, and Corey Kispert added 14 points to Wizards.
Washington dragged 28 in the third quarter and was delayed within five minutes before Miami completed the 4-0 home stand.
“It’s a tough environment at first, but I haven’t practiced it, I just walk through the ballroom … it’s difficult,” said Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. “I give them credit for the efforts they have made.”
Neither team had eight players. This is mainly due to virus-related reasons due to the large number around the NBA.
Wizards did not have Bradley Beal, Thomas Bryant, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, Rui Hachimura, Montrezl Harrell, Anthony Gill, Aaron Holiday, Raul Neto.
Miami lacked Raleigh, Udonis Haslem, Max Strus due to the protocol, and Adebayo, PJ Tucker, Dewayne Dedmon, Markieff Morris, and Victor Oladipo due to injury.
“When things happen or things change, we need to adapt and overcome them,” Strass said on Tuesday, hours before the match. “That’s what we’re actually working on in the world right now.”
He was going to play. About an hour before the game time, after warming up, he entered the protocol and the heat was a rotation of eight people.
“The whole league is adapting to it,” said heat coach Erik Spoelstra. “I admire everyone for working together through all of this.”
The victory was 629th for Spoelstra and defeated the tie with Dougmo by fully scoring 25th on the NBA’s career list. Spoelstra is currently No. Within 9 wins from 24 Chuck Daly.
Spoelstra’s father, former NBA executive Jon Spoelstra, once worked with Moe at the Denver Nuggets, but still considers Moe one of his favorites.
I can’t even bother my head with that. … He is a legend of this profession, ”Spoelstra said.
Hint-INS
Wizards: Washington left home 24-36 in 2021. … Wizards (17-17) are back at .500 this season. After not spending more than .500 in each of the last three seasons, it has not yet fallen below .500 at any point in the 2021-22 campaign. … Washington’s biggest deficit was 28 points, which was the fourth game of the season, and Wizards dragged at least that number.
Heat: Miami became 31-20 at home in 2021. … The heat didn’t commit the first turnover until 5:12 remained in half. … Miami scored 65 points in the 100th half-time of the franchise’s history, which improved to 79-21. The heat did it four times this month alone, joining in May 2021 and January 2020, tying the second most in team history in any month. Miami did such a first half six times in November 2019.
On the call
Jenna Schroeder and Lauren Holt Kampsterling, who were part of the NBA’s first two female referees in January, were two of the referees sent to Miami to join veteran Ed Malloy. Another way, Ruth Riley Hunter called. Former Notre Dame star, WNBA star, and Olympic gold medalist were the game’s heat television analysts, and the protocol was attended by regular analyst John Crotti.
Waiting for RUI
Hachimura, who hasn’t played a “real” match since the Tokyo Olympics, was suspicious of making his season debut on Tuesday. Then he entered the protocol and delayed it at least a few more days. “He feels like he’s in a good place. It’s like a little speed bump so far that he can’t be with us and is potentially available.” Unseld Jr. Said.
