Tampa, Florida (AP) —According to ESPN, Tom Brady has retired from the NFL after an unprecedented career that has won seven Super Bowls and set numerous passing records.
44-year-old Brady will play after leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to last season’s Super Bowl title and this season’s NFC South Championship.
ESPN reported Brady’s retirement On Saturday, I quoted an unknown source.
Brady quoted the desire to spend more time with his wife and children, even though he was still playing at the top of the game. The Buccaneers led the NFL in the Yard Pass (5,316), Touchdown (43), Completion (485) and Attempt (719), but the Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Division Round last Sunday.
Brady played for Bill Belichick and won six Super Bowls at the New England Patriots in the 20th season. He joined the Buccaneers in 2020 and won the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Brady leaves the game as a career leader in Yard Pass (84,520) and TD (624). He was the only player to win five or more Super Bowls and was the MVP of the game five times.
