Exclusive: Black expression baseball Will be the focus of MLB Tonight: Conversation, Which MLB Network It will air on Monday at 5 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on Martin Luther King Junior Day.
Hosted by MLB Network analyst and former player Harold Reynolds, the show will feature a new interview with Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker and Atlanta Braves coach Ron Washington. The guest list also includes Michael Bourn, a two-time All-Star member of the Players Alliance, a group of 100 active and former players seeking opportunities for the black community of baseball and society. King himself played a role in forming the alliance. Former manager Jerry Manuel and Cameron Maybin, a member of the Players Alliance, will also be featured.

The MLK The show is an edition of the regular show created by the Network in June 2020 in response to widespread protests against racial injustice. According to the network, its goal is to “create a frank debate about racial injustice and inequality in society and baseball.”
Top 2022 MLB Draft Outlook Elijah Green, Thermar Johnson and Cassius Thomas will also discuss the rise of baseball as a black athlete. They will discuss the points from participating in the Dream Series, an annual showcase event focused on pitching and catching dynamics. Participants in the Dream Series, held on MLK’s holiday weekend, are a diverse group of high school elite athletes. This year, the event is virtually happening due to Covid’s safety concerns.
Of course, at a larger level, the general activity as Major League Baseball heads towards the regular spring training time frame remains uncertain. The labor impasse between the owner and the player has raised many questions about the start of the season, although the first talks between the parties this month have been reported.
