Chicago – In a changing season with more ups than downs since October, he has been one of the consistently positive Blackhawks during the 2021-202 season.
The NHL now recognizes Alex Devlincat’s play over the past few months by giving him the highest honor of his professional career.
Just before the team’s match against the Canadians at the United Center on Thursday night, Devlinkat was named the NHL All-Star of the Midseason Classic at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 5th.
He takes the ice with his fellow Central Division All-Stars for the “3-on-3” tournament that night.
DeBrincat won the honor in what could be his best of the five NHL seasons with the Blackhawks. In 36 games he leads the team with 23 goals and 6 assists. This is a positive indication of his career’s best goals set in the 2018-2019 campaign, following the shortened output of 32 goals for the 2021 season.
Over the past few weeks, Devlinkat has had no trouble finding the net and has scored nine goals in the last nine games, including six in January. On Tuesday night, he scored two points with a 4-2 Blackhawks victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
DeBrincat, the team’s second round draft topic for 2016, has 142 goals and 116 assists in 322 career games in Chicago.
The Blackhawks could win their second All-Star in Las Vegas in February, thanks to the NHL’s “Last Men’s” vote. This allows fans to vote for representatives of each division, and the Blackhawks candidate is Seth Jones of Defense.
Earned off-season from the Blue Jackets, Jones has 22 assists and 3 goals in 35 games in the Blackhawks’ top defensive line.
The Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat was named the 2022 NHL All-Star.
