Shelby County, Illinois (Wand)-A man in Mowarequa threatened to cut the throats of two deputy sheriffs and was sentenced to four years in prison.
According to officials, 27-year-old Travis L. Sinnard was sentenced to four years by the Illinois Corrections Bureau for threatening a class three felony, a civil servant sentenced to five years from probation.
Deputy Sheriff County Sheriff contacted Sheriff on August 11, 2021 to serve Sheriff on a protection order.
According to officials, Sinard answered the door of the dwelling with a knife in his hand and threatened to cut his throat when two sheriffs’ agents served him on a protection order.
Police have reported that Sinard physically resisted the arrest, claiming that “this is all done by the Democratic Party.”
The knife was confiscated as evidence and one agent was injured during the quarrel.
Cinard has been detained in Shelby County Jail since he was arrested.
Police also said Sinnard was previously convicted of assaulting school staff in 2012 and probated.
This is Sinnard’s first sentence to the Illinois Corrections Bureau.
