Los Angeles (AP) — Stand-up comedian Fuquan Johnson was one of three people who died on suspicion of overdose at a Los Angeles party, officials said Monday.
According to Los Angeles Police Department police officer Mike Lopez, three people were declared dead early Saturday morning at a scene near Venice, and a fourth was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The dead was Johnson, 43, from Los Angeles. Enrico Colangeli, 48, from Medford, Massachusetts. Natalie Williamson, 33, from Los Angeles, said the LA County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Lopez, a preliminary study found that three people died from overdose. After the autopsy is performed, the coroner identifies and releases the official cause of death.
Authorities did not identify the person who was hospitalized.
Johnson has been a popular regular at comedy clubs in Southern California for years and wrote for the online show “Comedy Parlor Live: Quarantine Edition.”
A fellow comedian paid homage to him on social media as his words of death spread.
“Your energy will brighten the room,” Damian Dante Wayans said on Instagram. “Everyone loved Fu!”
Some media reported that lingerie was also a stand-up comedian.
